A simple act of kindness
I was starting my day at the outpatient clinic. With no chair to sit, of course I was getting ready to stand up for the rest of the morning. Suddenly, the nurse went out of the room and came back in with a chair for me to sit.
I smiled.
I was on my way to the EC when I saw a sanitář was helping an old, fragile-looking lady to get on her wheelchair. He was holding her crutches and bag too.
I smiled.
I was just barely able to catch the bus home from the hospital. But the bus was not moving. I turned around and I saw the bus driver was busy helping the man on the wheelchair to get on the bus.
I smiled.
In the bus, I saw one boy who had a big metal necklace hanging around his neck was standing near the door. Hmm..another naughty school boy, I guess. Then, the next stop was approaching and an old lady was getting ready to get down. The 'naughty school boy' pressed the open button for her.
I smiled.
I was on my way to the counter desk to pay for my groceries. The lines were long everywhere and so I just went to the nearest counter. Suddenly, a Tesco lady called me and asked me to go to the self-service counter. I showed her I had a basket full of things which might be more convenient for me to be where I was. But, she just keep on calling me and telling me it's alright.
I gave in, and walked to the self-service stations half-heartedly. Surprisingly, the lady took my basket and showed me how to do it. More than half of my groceries were checked out by her.
I smiled.
Here,
Giving away your seats to the elderly is a must
Greeting to some strangers is not weird
Make way for people to get out from the bus or train is never a problem.
Some people may called it being gentleman
Some people may called it courtesy
Some people may called it responsibility
Some people may called it manner
But I just call it,
a simple act of kindness.
Just how the dandelions brighten up the dark, boring bricks and stones. That's how the random act of kindness works in this chaotic world. |
My friends always said that Hradec Králové is a very peaceful town.
I'll say its not the place.
Its the people.
and the peace is not due to one person, or one group.
but it is from everyone.
and it does not need any big actions
just a simple act of kindness from each and every one of you.
and Allah has said about it,
the prophet had shown it
and why we simply do not learn?
The world will be a better place to live in
If each and every one of us shows a simple act of kindness everyday.

"And every one has a direction to which he should turn, therefore hasten to (do) good works; wherever you are, Allah will bring you all together; surely Allah has power over all things."
"Dan setiap umat mempunyai kiblat yang dia menghadap kepadanya. Maka berlumba-lumbalah kamu dalam kebaikan. Di mana saja kamu berada, pasti Allah akan mengumpulkan kamu semuanya. Sungguh, Allah MahaKuasa atas segala sesuatu. "
(Surah Al-Baqarah 2: 148)
Daripada 'Aisyah r.a, beliau berkata:
'Saya pernah mendengar Rasulullah s.a.w bersabda:
"Sesungguhnya orang mukmin itu dengan kebaikan akhlaknya boleh mengejar darjat orang yang rajin berpuasa dan berqiyamullail."
(Hadith riwayat Abu Dawud)
Allahu'alam
P/s: If they are to embrace islam (may Allah gives them the taufiq and hidayah), they will be better muslims than us. :)
